Perler Beads! :D

     YESH! PERLER BEADS RETURN! ^^

     Alright, enough with that. If any of you don't know what Perler Beads are, they are the colorful beads you design on a pegboard and iron together. I have been into them since I was a kid, and just got back into them again. I still have the designs from when I was little. I made things like a pony, an oreo cookie, a heart, and a few others. =]

     But lately, I have been making designs having to do with Pokemon, because pokemon are amazing, as you can tell. ^^ Ones I have made so far are...

NEW PHONE! :D

     FINALLY, after two years, this desperate child has a new phone! Ever since the beginning of 07, I have had a Gold V3xxx Razr. I loved if for the first year and a half or so. After that... It started to get really boring. SO, I had been waiting for the fateful day that my phone lease would be up, and I could get a new one.

     You may ask, "Why not just break it and then get a new one?"  My answer... I've tried. I haven't purposefully done anything to try and break my phone, but it has come pretty close to breaking just by accident. Over the course of these two years, I have dropped my phone at a MINIMUM 0f 2-3 a day. I have had it fall out of my pocket, fall of the lockers, get thrown on the ground (not by me), and heck, I've even had it drop off of a TEN STORY hotel roof before, and it STILL didn't break. (Granted it landed in the grass, but still...) So obviously this has been the sturdiest phone I've EVER had, but I'm still sick of it.

     So Novemeber (the month of my lease) rolls around, and I'm expecting an update soon... Of course, just like my parents typically do, they promise I can go to Best Buy within a couple of days to get the phone I really wanted. Which brand was it? You'll have to go to our Youtube account, dextersdatabase, to find out, because I'm not saying. *laughs in face*... Anyway, continuing on with the story... So, of course, we don't get to the store right away. At first I think "Okay, no big deal, this is just like them to put it off a little bit. I'll just wait a while before I ask, because they'll get angry for repetitively asking them."

     So, THREE MONTHS LATER, we FINALLY go to the store to get the phone of my dreams... Jeez, it's about time... Well, that's all for now.

Progress Reports

Alright, so every three weeks we get a nifty little thing called a progress report to tell us how we're doing in school. I finally got mine today, and... ALL A's! :D I was so ecstatic. Here's my grades...

Theater 1- 97

Band 1- 100

English 1- 93

Biology- 97

Geometry- 93

Health- 97

World Geography- 93

Latin 1- 100

So anyways, I was pretty excited. =]

MORE Website Updates, And A Tiny Rant

     Okay, so I have put up the biggest update so far on the website. A whoppin' two pages. ;) But it's good enough for me. Just setting up the main parts of the pages, and fully uploading the two pages took about a week or two... Very tiring process.

     Anyways, I am really happy with school grades right now. In Biology, I got a 97 on a quiz we took, which I really have been needing a lot of these kind of grades lately. And, just my luck, I have been! :D  I also got a 95 on a Geometry quiz... Very pleasing to me.

Snow- Er, ICE DAY! :D

     We got the day off because of ice! That's so lame, but I love it! I had a project due, so this was a good break for me! I also was given a chance to rest today, which I desperately needed, because I only get about 5-6 hours of sleep a night! I get so exhausted! So that was good.

    Next, I want to say that I have been rapidly trying to edit the website to get it up ASAP. :) Stay tuned for the official release on that.

Personal Boasting (This Is Rare, Kids, So Enjoy It!)

     Okay, so we just took the Mock TAKS tests a few weeks ago. (To find out what TAKS are, read one of my rants in a previous post, self titled.) There are 141 students in my freshman class (I know, a LOT right? ;P) So anyways, about a week after the tests, everyone got their semester scores back to find out their class rank. I was one of the people who hadn't gotten theirs yet. I had to listen to all my friends talk about "I got 4th!" or "8th", "11th", "14th", "16th", and all I could think about was where my stupid scores had to be.

     So a few days later I finally have the ambition to get up and do something about my "lost" scores, and asked my mom if she knew where they were. As usual, she did. She knew about them, but thought were just scores (which I had already seen), and didn't throw them away, but put them in a random place, all to be forgotten. I told my mom that my rank was on there, so she immediately went to look for it.

     Well, about an hour later, she comes back with a smiling face. She shows me the paper, I look at it, and saw that I ranked 10th place, out of all 141 students! I was SO ecstatic. I have a story that ties to this, but I shall write it on a later date, because I have homework to do.

Website Progress

     Yay! The Dexter's Database website is now up (kinda)! If you go to it right now, nothing is really gonna show up. Just the words "Dexter's Database", and a picture you can't even look at. But I'm in overdrive mode for editing it right now, so I'll let you know when any more happens. :D

3 Day Weekends, THANK YOU Martin Luther!

     Okay, so we get MLK Day off, so I get a three day weekend! :D I was SO happy for that, because that means I can get a lot of work done relating to Dexter's Database! I was able to post a new episode (well, in a few minutes. I'm uploading it right now), work on the youtube account (and work on Neffers' Log), and I'm getting close to getting my website set up. I was able to get so much done this weekend! And it's not even over yet! So, I'm psyched about that.

     That's all I really have to say this time.

TAKS, School, And All That Jazz

     So, contrary to many schools, our school actually does things right and takes our semester exams DURING the semester, and not AFTER we get back, after you forget everything you've learned over break. But, our school decides it doesn't wanna be the odd ball out, and we decide to have Mock TAKS testing, to prepare us for the real TAKS test in a few months. Incase you don't know, TAKS (Texas Assessment Of Knowledge and Skills) is a test you take for certain subjects in the Spring every year, apparently saying whether you learned anything all year or not. If you don't do well on the test, EVEN if you have an A+ in that class, you apparently didn't learn anything ALL year, and you can't move on to the next grade. I know, dumb, right? Anways, The final day was today, and so I'm so happy that's over with. But, even though that's over, I still have to take a Biology quiz tomorrow. *ugh*

     Alright, enough ranting. SOME good thing did happen in school today! First off, even though I'm in 9th grade, which is when you're supposed to be taking Algebra 1 in Texas, but I already took Algebra. So I'm in Geometry this year (Nerd, I know. XP). The HONORS Geometry at that. It's REALLY easy compared to Algebra (most of the time). But anyways, out of the two Honors Geometry classes, I got the HIGHEST grade on a quiz we took. Out of BOTH classes! :D I felt proud of myself.

     Not much else has been happening lately... But that's what happens to a kid with no life; however, I might be going to a friend's house on Saturday... That counts. :)...

First Post Debut

     Hey guys, so this is offcially the first post of my blog, "Neffers, Up Close And Personal", Neffers' official blog for DDMT. Incase you don't know, DDMT is a podcast I host, alongside my friend Annie. If you've never heard of it, then I don't know why you're here!
